NHS phlebotomy appointments in Portsmouth go online

From 10 September, Portsmouth Hospital University NHS Trust Phlebotomy Services will be moving to an online appointment booking system for routine blood tests.



Which phlebotomy sites will be affected


This change will apply to all five phlebotomy sites:

  • Queen Alexandra Hospital (QA)

  • St Mary's Hospital

  • Petersfield Community Hospital

  • Gosport War Memorial Hospital

  • Fareham Community Hospital


If you can't book appointments online


For people who don't have digital devices, internet access or digital confidence, people with visual disadvantages, or any other reasons causing you to be unable to book appointments online, you can still book appointments through phone calls.


Please call 023 9268 1755 between 9:30am and 3:00pm, Monday to Friday, and a member of our team will be happy to assist you with arranging an appointment.


A step-by-step guide to book an NHS Blood Test online


  1. To book an appointment, please visit: Book a Phlebotomy Appointment

  2. Select clinic type: Choose if you are booking for adults or children

  3. Select hospital: Choose which hospital you are booking the blood test with

  4. Log in or sign up for an account. If you are a new user, you will need to sign up with some personal information, for example, your email address, your date of birth, your postcode and your GP.

  5. Pick a date and time for your blood test. Click 'book'. You'll see a confirmation on the page once your appointment is booked.

  6. You can also cancel your appointment on the website if you want to.
