Mental health crisis centres will be opened over the next 10 years in an attempt to reduce crowding in accident and emergency (A&E) departments
They will be open to walk-in patients as well as those referred by GPs and police. There will be specialist staff present to treat people in mental distress.
NHS England said the pilot centres are in:
Avon and Wiltshire
Blackpool
Lincolnshire
East London
Leicestershire
Camden and Islington in north London
