Guidance on the phased easing of COVID-19 restrictions continues to be issued by government, in line with the Coronavirus roadmap out of lockdown. From 17th May, we’ll be allowed to meet in groups of up to 30 outdoors and meet indoors with family and friends, following the rule of six or two households.

We’ll also be able to choose whether or not to keep a social distance from family and friends, as hugging will be allowed.

Thank you for sticking to the rules so far. That’s the reason why from next week we’ll be able to enjoy seeing more people and getting closer to our loved ones again. As we take this next step it’s really important that we keep looking out for each and do the things that protect us all.

  • Before you get close or share a hug, think about the risk – who’s had the vaccine and who has health conditions that might put them a greater risk?
  • Continue to stay safe. Remember: hands, face space and fresh air
  • Get tested regularly
  • Attend your appointment when offered the vaccine
  • Use the NHS COVID-19 app to check-in at venues

Remember, limiting the number of people you’re in close contact with, and for how long, will help reduce the spread of coronavirus.
