AskSARA was developed by the Disabled Living Foundation, a national charity that provides information and advice on independent living for disabled people.

The AskSARA website helps to find the right solution for you, in a range of situations, including:

  • Managing medication
  • Hearing your TV
  • Getting up and down the stairs
  • Preparing meals
  • Carrying shopping
  • Gardening and other hobbies

Simply select the task or situation you're interested in, and answer a few short questions. The website will then suggest tools, equipment or adaptations, services or information that could help.

The website provides links to websites where you can buy equipment directly, but you are under no obligation to purchase.

Consider contacting Adult Social Care before purchasing equipment or adaptations. Assessment and advice from the Occupational Therapy team is free of charge, and equipment and adaptations can also sometimes be given or loaned free of charge.
