Your support can help shape a new Government Mental Health Plan The Government are asking for your views and experiences of mental health. They have a vision of how mental health should look in 10 years time, but need your help and support to achieve it. A plan to improve mental health services by promoting wellbeing, preventing mental health conditions emerging, intervening earlier, improving treatment, supporting people with mental health conditions to live well and preventing suicide is in progress, but can only be fully workable with your views, opinions and experiences. 999 BSL – a new medical emergency service for the deaf.

A new service called 999 BSL has been designed to ensure no deaf person will be excluded when, and if they need to make an emergency call. The service is provided through an app, or can be used via a web based platform, and will connect the user to a British Sign Language interpreter who will then pass the message onto the emergency authorities. Kooth Digital Health: The Healthwatch Report Waiting Times, Thresholds to Access and the Democratisation of Mental Health Care.

Cancer: High Street pharmacists to make referrals

High street pharmacists will be able to make referrals bypassing the GP's to help initiate quicker testing. The NHS will be funding more pharmacy checks and want to  send out more roaming trucks to perform on-the-spot scans in the community to help diagnose more cancers early.
