GPs across Portsmouth, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight now beginning to give the Covid-19 vaccine to patients

As the Covid-19 vaccination programme starts to expand, GP surgeries across the area are now starting to administer the vaccine to patients. Some GP practices across the country, including in Hampshire, Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight, have starting to take delivery of the Covid-19 vaccine to be administered to patients. Nurses, paramedics, pharmacists and other NHS staff will work alongside GPs to vaccinate those aged 80 and over, as well as care home workers and residents, identified as priority groups for the life-saving vaccine. QA Hospital is the only hospital in the Hampshire and Isle of Wight area to be on today’s list of 50 hubs starting to administer the Coronavirus Vaccination

Portsmouth Hospital is one of the 50 hubs who will be administrating the Coronavirus Vaccination People aged 80 and over as well as care home workers will be first to receive the jab, along with NHS workers who are at higher risk. Updated Covid-19 Guidance on shielding and protecting people who are clinically extremely vulnerable

The guidance has been updated to support the clinically extremely vulnerable in protecting themselves from exposure to coronavirus (COVID-19).
