The University of the Third Age is an organisation run by, and for, people who are no longer in full-time employment but who have an enthusiasm for learning.
The key to the U3A is participation – in joining, setting up and running or coordinating the various subject groups. Members share their knowledge, skills and experience and so learn from others. There are no paid tutors and most interest or subject groups meet in the homes of members to minimise costs.
In addition to regular learning opportunities, their monthly General Meetings take place on the 3rd Wednesday of each month (except August) at 2pm at Cosham Baptist Church. A talk is normally given, followed by a chance to meet other members and have a cup of tea.
Contact Portsdown U3A for their latest timetable of activities.
An access guide for Cosham Baptist Church is available on the church's website. Please contact Portsdown U3A to discuss accessibility for the particular subject or interest groups you wish to attend, as they are held in various venues, including members' homes.
The annual membership fee is £16, due each year on 1st April. (Checked January 2017).
