The Community Independence Service is a short-term service that can support you in getting back to your usual level of independence after an accident or illness. For example, if you've lost confidence after a fall, or need to build up your skills using new disability equipment.
An Occupational Therapist will work with you to set goals, based on what you're finding difficult and what's important to you. This might be parts of your daily routine like getting washed and dressed, and doing the housework, or leisure activities like getting out and about and socialising.
A Rehabilitation Assistant will then support you to achieve your goals. If you need ongoing support, they can work with you to explore your options.
