Reading Well Books on Prescription helps you manage your well-being using self-help reading.
They have over 30 self-help titles and are aimed at people with mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, social phobia and stress.
The Reading well shelves include:
- Self-help reading for conditions such as depression, anxiety, social phobia and stress
- Mood-boosting books, including novels, non-fiction and poetry selected by readers, and recommended to enjoy reading, reduce stress and help you relax.
- Recommended reading for people diagnosed with other conditions such as cancer, or dementia

There is no charge for borrowing books, as long as you return or renew them on time.
You will need to register for a library card if you don't have one already. This is free, but if you lose it, there is a charge for replacement cards.
A book can be 'prescribed' by your doctor or health professional, or you can borrow the books from the library in the normal way.If the book you want isn't available, you can reserve it for free.
