Gunwharf Quays shops to mark world autism week with autism friendly shopping

Portsmouth's Gun Wharf Quays shopping centre is to mark world autism week 1 - 7 April 2019 with autism friendly  'autism hours'  everyday. On Monday 1 April to Friday 5 April at 4 - 5pm, Saturday 5 April 9-10am and Sunday 6 April 2019 10-11am shops in the centre will be dimming their lights and turning off music to make the shops friendlier for autistic people. Review of Think Autism strategy launched

The Government has launched a review of its national adult autism strategy Think Autism. Think Autism is a cross-government strategy, launched in April 2014, which set out the steps that the Department of Health, local councils and other bodies would take to improve the quality of life for autistic adults and ensure that services met their needs. Now the Government is reviewing the effectiveness of the strategy and the progress that has been made as well as asking for ideas for new action to be taken. Portsmouth Autism Community Forum meeting 28 February 2019
